Servicefradrag – the Danish tax deduction for household services – is worth about 26%. Check SKAT's current conditions, and use this guide to help you in TastSelv.
The whole invoice is deductible
The whole amount on your invoice is deductible. Our price is one hourly rate for the cleaning work itself – there are no separate items for travel or cleaning products, so you don't have to work anything out yourself. It applies to ordinary cleaning in the home, e.g.:
- Vacuuming and mopping
- Cleaning the toilet and bathroom
- Washing and wiping surfaces
- Cleaning the kitchen and hob
- Cleaning, 3 hours × DKK 425DKK 1,275

- Cleaning productsDKK 0
Example. The exact number of hours is agreed at the free home visit.

Frequently asked questions
Is cleaning from PrivatRen deductible?
Yes – SKAT specifically names cleaning as a deductible service. That covers vacuuming, mopping, cleaning the toilet and bathroom and much more. PrivatRen provides exactly the services that qualify for the deduction.
What is the maximum deduction this year?
In 2026 you can claim servicefradrag on up to DKK 18,300 per person – that's up to DKK 36,600 for a couple. The tax value is about 26%, so the maximum saving is about DKK 4,758 per person, or up to DKK 9,516 for a couple.
Can I only deduct labour – not materials?
Yes, that's the general rule: only labour is deductible, not materials, cleaning products or travel. At PrivatRen, though, you don't have to keep track of what counts – our invoice is solely for the cleaning work itself, with no separate items for anything else. So the whole amount you pay is deductible.
What about VAT – is it the gross or net price?
Use the amount you actually paid, including VAT. As we're VAT-registered, the deduction is calculated on the full invoice amount, VAT included.
Should I keep my invoices?
Yes, it's recommended to keep your documentation for at least 5 years, so you have it ready if the Danish Tax Agency asks to see it.
Does the deduction only apply to my main home?
No, it also applies to your holiday home (e.g. a summer house), as long as you own it yourself and it isn't let out to others.
